Nigeria Society of Engineers, Kaduna branch, has urged both Federal and State Governments to patronise its indigenous engineers across the country in their infrastructure development for positive results.

Chairman of the State branch, Engr. Rachel Serumum Ugye made this call during the 2021 Annual General Meeting and election of new executives to run the affairs of the society through the dispensation in Kaduna.

She advised that the government should stop bringing in foreigners to handle infrastructural work, as there are capable of doing even better in that regards.

Engr. Ugye said in the one year of her tenure in office, engineers in Kaduna have been encouraged to stick to the ethics of the profession in other to deliver.

She lauded Kaduna state government for the inclusion of members of the society in the ongoing urban renewal project

According to her, most of members of the society are consultants to the edifice been constructed accross the state, saying this shows that we have competent a hands of engineers in the country that are not push over.

However, like Oliver twist, Engr. Ugye urged the government to patronize more engineers.
