In the last working days of the week, fatal security breaches were recorded mostly in the Eastern part of Birnin-Gwari.

Notably, Dogon Dawa, Layin Mahuta, and Tabanni, in which five people were reported to have been killed, while seventeen others were abducted from Monday 15th to Friday 19th March 2022.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Birnin-Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagari, and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement which reads in parts,” We thank you for your usual support and solidarity in reporting security situation within Birnin-Gwari general area.

“On Tuesday, March 14th, 2022, Haruna Tanko Dogon Dawa and two others were cruelly murdered in the Eastern part of Birnin-Gwari by armed bandits along with Dogon Dawa- Zaria. Eight other people were abducted on the same route.

“At Layin Mahuta (Tabanni) one Abdullahi Abubakar, a school teacher was killed by bandits along Layin Lasan-Tabanni road on Wednesday 16th March 2022. While on Thursday 17th March 2022, a Seventy- year old man was killed and Seven women were abducted at Layin Mahuta Tabanni. Two other people were abducted by the bandits at old Tabanni.

“In Randagi general area, bandits have released 32 people out of 46 abductees from attacks at Unguwar Bula and Ijinga three weeks ago, after paying sixteen million Naira. Birnin-Gwari Kaduna road was quiet during the period under review

“We urged security personnel to always respond to distressed calls around Dogon Dawa, Kuyello, Tabanni and Kutemeshi wards in Birnin-Gwari”. the statement reads.
