Following media reports attributing some wrongful meaning to statement said to have been uttered by the chairman of Gerawa Group of Companies, Alhaji Isah Gerawa, a counter statement is issued describing the media reports as deliberate mischief.

In the statement signed and made available to newsmen on Monday by his Media aide Dauda Ali Kura, he quoted his principal to reiterate the said statement, insisting that it was done in good faith with good intention.

“We need to make changes on the way things are being done in Jigawa, we need to see that our people are empowered.

“We will continue to be law abiding citizen and respectful of our constituted authorities, and if anybody feels hurts by my statement, it is good to note that, is not intentionally targeted at him or her but a coincidence” he mentioned.

In light of this, the statement debunks the negative interpretations given to the words of his boss, describing it as deliberate and mischievous.

“Our attention has been drawn to a report by some section of the media aimed at blackmailing and tarnish the good image of the Chairman, Gerawa Group of Companies, Alhaji Isa Gerawa and create chaos in our dear state Jigawa.

“The media report was nothing but an intentional, deliberate and well calculated plan by mischief makers, misquoting part of the statement made by the chairman during an event in order to create unnecessary tension.

“The said remarks he made at the occasion was purely out of his love for the people of Jigawa state and well meaning citizens and has nothing to do with any religion, tribe, region or ideology as wrongfully portrayed by the mischief perpetrators.

“Jigawa is our state, and it is our duty to caution our leaders on what we believe is not going on the right way and we don’t have any intention, whatsoever, to blackmail anybody based on his or her political ideology” the statement said.
