The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), has inaugurated a 10 -member governing council to pilot the affairs of the institution.

The Proprietor, Alhaji Nafiu Rabiu, who inaugurated the council on Tuesday in Kano, tasked them to ensure that the institution occupy a leading position among universities.

Represented by Rabiu Isiyaku, a board member, the Proprietor said the evolution of the university was borne out of his late father, Khalifa’s philosophy and passion for knowledge.

He said the late Khalif’s commitment to establish the institution during his life-time gave his children impetus and encouragement to fulfil his dream.

Rabiu, said the university was initially named Attanzeel University which symbolises Khalifa’s life long commitment to the Holy Quran.

“The National Universities Commission (NUC) in recognition of Khalifa’s contributions directed the renaming of the institution to Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University.

“The university was formally granted licence to operate by Federal Executive Council through the NUC on 12th May, 2022.

“The Muhammad Rabiu Islamic Foundation International which is the formal Proprietor of the University, believes that quality education, especially at the university level is pivotal to generation of future leaders,” he said.

Responding, the Chairman of the Council, Prof. Sani Zahradeen, thanked the management for finding them fit to serve.

He said that he was confident that the council would live up to the expectations of the management in the discharge of its duties.

Zaharadeen, aformer ViceChancellor, Bayero University Kano, pledged council’s commitment to work assiduously to ensure the university achieved greater height.
