Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner of Special Duties, has strongly denied allegations linking him to an affair with a married woman, following reports of his alleged arrest by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
In a press release, Sankara labeled the accusations as “false, baseless, and malicious,” asserting that they were orchestrated by political elements seeking to damage his reputation.

“My attention has been drawn to a recent media report alleging that I have been arrested by the Kano Hisbah Command on charges of having an affair with a married woman. I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false and aimed at tarnishing my reputation,” Sankara said.
The Kano State Hisbah Board had earlier confirmed the arrest, stating that Sankara was found in an uncompleted building with a married woman, following complaints from her husband’s younger brother. Hisbah officials, led by Director General Dr. Abba Sufi, revealed that the arrest was made after they tracked the commissioner, acting on intelligence reports of his alleged illicit activities.
“Yes, it is true, we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara with a married woman in an uncompleted building,” Dr. Sufi said, adding that the arrest was made after receiving several reports of his alleged nefarious acts.
The complaint was originally lodged by the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who accused Sankara of engaging in an affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of two.
However, Sankara has dismissed these claims, maintaining his innocence and vowing to take legal action against those responsible for what he called a “fabricated story.”
“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information,” he added.
Sankara emphasized his respect for the institution of marriage and stated that he remains committed to upholding the values and principles of integrity.
