Police in Jigawa State has again uncovered two more abandoned newborn babies dumped at the outskirts of Majawa village and Dutse town.

Spokesman of the command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, stated this in a statement.

This comes after a day-old baby was discovered last Friday inside a well at Garin Ganau Village in Babura Local Government, Jigawa State.

He said the first incident happened on 28/11/2021 at about 1600hrs, where a newborn baby boy was found and abandoned at the outskirt of Majawa Village, Bulangu District, Kafin Hausa LGA.

He said a team of Policemen rushed to the scene, and the baby was rushed to the General Hospital Kafin Hausa, examined and confirmed dead by Medical Doctor.

Shiisu said in the course of the investigation and a 20-year-old Hansai Muhammad was traced and apprehended for the offence.

The Police Spokesman added that days later, another abandoned newborn baby was also discovered in Dutse.

He said the baby was also examined and certified healthy by a medical doctor and was handed over to Orphanage House in Dutse for care and upkeep.

Shiisu said Investigation is ongoing to trace the mother and bring her to book.
