Gunmen have exchanged fire with security operatives attached to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s convoy.

The attack was launched while the convoy was on its way back from Zamfara state where the Governor defected to the All Progressives Congress APC.

According to a source, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and his counterparts, Governor Mai Mala Buni and Governor Abubakar Badaru were not part of the convoy when the incident occurred.

”Three Policemen were injured.

”All the Governors were not with us. They had since advanced and the attack was launched on us that were heading to Kano.” The source said.

The source further revealed that the ambulance vehicle in the convoy was also damaged.

Another source confirmed that the Governors of Kano, Jigawa and Yobe had arrived in Kano even before the incident.
