Kaduna State Government says it is developing a tourism master plan and policy to boost the tourism sector in the state.
The Commissioner for Business Innovation, Mr Idris Nyam made this known on Tuesday in Kaduna, while addressing Journalists on the celebration of the 2021 World Tourism Day.
He said the documents would guide strategic planning and implementation of government policy in the industry.
He said the state government has a catalogue of all the state tourism sites and set up local government tourism committees.
He disclosed that the state government had commenced privatisation of its hotels and motels, in order to concentrate on providing enabling environment for private sector investment.
Nyam noted that tourism has the capacity of bringing more economic activities, jobs and revenue to the state.
He said the recent intervention by the Federal Government to reduce reliance on crude oil revenue, has made tourism a viable contributor for diversification.
He said the government would make the state a hub for investment, businesses and pleasure.
The commissioner called on investors to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in the state.
NAN reports that United Nations  World Tourism Organisation declared Sept. 27 annually as World Tourism Day, with the theme,
“Tourism for inclusive growth”.
The theme is to look at the capability of the tourism industry to bring about inclusive growth. (NAN)
