Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ), Kaduna branch, has inaugurated new executives who will see the affairs of the association in the state for the next three years.

Barrister Godwin Duru administered the oath of office for the new Excos at the NUJ Press Center, Kaduna, where some Officials of the Association from the National, members of the State Council, among others, were present.

In her remarks, Chairperson, Fatima Aliyu Mahuta, who returned unopposed, said the last three years offered them an avenue that has widened their horizons in steering the affairs of the association that will serve as a guide to consolidate on existing achievements and make amendments where necessary.

She noted that the present Excos under her watch are poised to work as a team and chart a formidable course that will advance and protect the interests of female journalists in Kaduna.

According to her, the task of making NAWOJ great is a collective responsibility, therefore, enjoined other members of the great association and stakeholders to join hands with the new Excos in achieving the task.

She said, “we assure you that with the new mandate given to us, we shall work round the clock to justify the confidence reposed in us. we are determined to bequeath a lasting legacy to the unborn generation.

“I appeal to members and other critical stakeholders in the NAWOJ project to join us in building a vibrant NAWOJ of our dream. we look forward to working closely with you.

“I call on everyone to join us in making NAWOJ great again”.

Other Excos inaugurated include; Sahura Maidoki; Vice Chairman, Maureen Sheyin; Secretary, Amina Anebi; Assistant Secretary, Fatima Umar; Treasurer, Ruth Yakubu; Financial secretary and Salamatu Abubakar as the Auditor.

The inauguration sees Lecture organized by the Incoming Excos On Skills Acquisition (women empowerment) for its members.
