Protesters who stormed the gate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna State Secretariat on Friday and demanded for the removal of Senator Iyorchia Ayu, were denied entry into the Secretariat while party officials also denied any link to the protest.

The protest was staged in front of the state Secretariat of the party near NDA bus stop by unidentified youth groups.

The Protesters carried placards with different inscriptions in their hands reading ‘Ayu Must go’, Northenr Youths: We are for justice and fairness’, etc.

When contacted, Kaduna State PDP officials denied any link with the protesting youths saying that not even a letter to the party to that effect was received from them prior to the protest

The officials also denied knowing or addressing the “Ayu must go” protesters, also adding that they did not enter the premises of the party Secretariat but only  made noise in front of the building.

Journalists were unable to identify the leader of the group who allegedly sponsored the protest.

It would be recalled that Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike has not relented in calling for the resignation of Ayu.
