In 2014, he was appointed a senior lecturer at Federal University, Dutsinma, before becoming the acting librarian, and in 2015, he was appointed the substantive librarian of the university.

He facilitated the achievement of full automation of the university library, making it the 4th best automated university library in Nigeria.

He was appointed acting vice chancellor of the university by the governing council from October 9, 2019, to May 1, 2020, and served as a resource person to the Librarian Council of Nigeria and the National Library of Nigeria.

The librarian served equally as the secretary of a committee that developed standards for libraries under the Standards Organization of Nigeria in 2017 and also served as secretary to the Nigeria University Library Consortium from 2016–2019.
