Kamed Kanam media hub has organised a one day training for upcoming radio female journalists on radio news reporting through gender lens.

The founder of Kanam media TV, and the organiser of the training, Hadiza Bawas, explained that the purpose of the training is to make journalists, especially female journalists, see beyond just the reportage of normal news.

“Female journalists should go beyond the reportage of sports, weather to a deeper level of journalism,” She added.

Hadiza advised journalists to be gender inclusive when reporting.

She also encourages female journalists to take the lead in the newsroom.

Topics like taking leadership in the newsroom, approaching investigative reporting in the context of our own lens, development journalism,multimedia skills, challenges faced by female journalists in the field were discussed.

At the peak of the event, certificates were offered to participants by the guest of honor, the Khadi of Plateau Court of Appeal, Justice Yahaya Muhammad Kanam, and Mallam Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad.

Hadiza called on all participants to practice what they learn and put it to practice.
