The Convener of Shettima/Tinubu and Gawuna/Garo of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and also the president HM Group, Malam Hamisu Magaji has denied allegations of criminal trespass and intimidation labelled against him by certain sections of the media.

He addressed the media on Saturday describing the reports as erroneous that he denied one Yusuf Ibrahim access to a property worth N46 million that he sold to him and also refused to refund his money.

He described the claims as far detached from the truth that do not in any way reflect the actual thing that happened.

He further explained that the actual thing that happened was that he instructed his former lawyer, Ibrahim Umar Abere to engage a negotiation of the sale of one of his houses located at Sharada Federal Housing Authority Estate (FHA) to be sold at N46 million.

His former lawyer came back to him that the price was too high for which Magaji agreed to sell at a net price of N40 million.

The former lawyer told him that a buyer has offered to purchase it at the said rate of N40 million which he agreed to.

“After the buyer paid the the money to ex former lawyer Abere, he dishonestly transfered the sum of N37.25 million to my account.

“On getting underpaid I immediately challenged him on the misdeed on the missing balance of N2.75 million which he failed to remit.

“Consequently, in the cause of investigation, I then discovered that the house was actually sold at the sum of N46 million.

“Thereafter I immediately wrote a cheque of N37.75 million and dropped it at my ex lawyer’s office, and informed him that I was no longer interested in selling of my house.

“A week later, Abere rushed and transfered into my account the N2.75 million balance payment that he had earlier withheld against my will” Magaji stated.

He further alleged breach and abuse of trust perpetrated by his ex lawyer Abere which led him to disengage his services.

“I also demanded that he returned all my documents that were in his custody but instead of him to oblige, he started to threaten, blackmail and intimidate me while also revealing my legal secrets to my adversaries” Magaji further stated.

He therefore expressed dissatisfaction with the unbalanced stories about the case that have brought disrepute to his personality as a renowned businessman and politician.

“Therefore, I am appealing to these journalists and their platforms to promptly retract the false and defamatory claims they have published against me in the interest of justice and fairness,” he appealed.
