Kano State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, passed a bill for the establishment of Kano State Rural Access Roads Agency (KARARA).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bill was passed at the plenary, presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Dashi (APC-Kiru).

According to the Deputy Majority Leader, Alhaji Dahiru Zarewa, the agency, when established, will be responsible for construction and rehabilitation of rural roads.
”The essence is to facilitate and improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the rural populace.
”With good rural roads, agriculture, which is the prominent engagement of the people, will get a boost,” he said.
In another development, the assembly announced the receipt of a letter from Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, seeking approval for the appointment of Dr Ibrahim Yakasai as the Chief Medical Director of Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital.
The house mandated its standing committee on health to screen the nominee and submit its report on Wednesday.
NAN reports that the assembly had earlier approved the upgrade of the specialist hospital to a teaching hospital.
