Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Hamish Chidari, has called on Journalists in the state, to uphold professionalism and remain true watchdogs of the society.

The Speaker made the call on Tuesday in Kano when he received members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kano chapter, in his office.

He commended the association and other newsmen in the state for adequate reportage of the government policies and programmes, urging them to keep up the good work.

The Speaker also pledged to work with media organisations in the state to keep the public abreast with developments in the State Assembly.

Earlier, Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs Bilkisu Zango, said they were at the House to cement the already existing cordial working relations.

Zango then appealed to the House for speedy passage of the Social Protection Bill and that of People Living with Disabilities.

She commended the Speaker for maintaining a cordial relationships with other lawmakers in the House, as well as the Executive arm of government. (NAN)
