The Kano State Censorship Board (KSCB) has taken a significant step towards nurturing the creative talents of Hausa writers with the initiation of a Creative Writing Competition.
Daily News 24 reports that the competition, set to kick off for the year 2023/2024, aims to inspire and engage the youth in the state, fostering a culture of literary excellence and artistic expression.

According to a statement by the Board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sulaiman, the Executive Secretary, Alh. Abba El-mustapha, called upon interested candidates to participate in the opportunity to showcase their writing prowess.
The guidelines for the competition include:
– Starting from June 5, 2024, candidates can acquire the competition form at the 3rd Floor of Broadcasting House (ARTV/44) on Maiduguri Road, Hotoro Kano. Submissions must be completed on or before June 19, 2024.
– Participants are granted a two-week window to submit their creative works for consideration.
