Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved key appointments of experts to head various boards and agencies, aiming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the health sector.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Thursday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emphasized his commitment to enhancing the healthcare sector’s efficiency and effectiveness.

“As part of his efforts to reposition the health sector for optimum performance, the Executive Governor of Kano State His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced names of experts to head the boards and agencies under the sector,” the statement read.

Among those appointed are Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen as the Executive Secretary of Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND), and Pharm.

Ghali Sule as the Director-General of Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (DCMA).

Additionally, Dr. Usman Bashir has been appointed as the Director-General of Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS (KSACA), while Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba has been appointed as the Coordinator of Kano State Cancer Care Centre (KCCC).

Dr. Muhammad Abbas has also been appointed as the Coordinator of Kano State Agency for Disease Control (KADC).

The Governor emphasized that these appointments were made based on merit and the appointees’ dedication to ensuring the delivery of quality and affordable healthcare services, aligning with his Excellency’s healthcare blueprint.
