The Kano State Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP and member of the House of Representatives for Municipal Federal Constituency, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada has sent his congratulatory message to the new Sarkin Bai of Kano Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan for his turbaning as Sarkin Bai of Kano.
The Governorship candidate stated this in a release issued to newsmen by the Gubernatorial Campaign Council Spokesperson Abbas Yushau Yusuf in Kano.
The statement reads: “It is with utmost gratitude to Almighty Allah that today Friday the 28th of October, the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero turbans you as the new Sarkin Bai of Kano to succeed your late father ,Late Adnan Mukhtar who graciously held the stool for 67 years.
“No doubt attaining the position of your late respected father and fore fathers is a testimony to your humility ,deligence and respect you have for your superiors and subordinates in the day to day affairs of your life and the day like this is a reward for you which every patriotic son of Kano is happy with”.
Sharada added that Dr. Mansur Mukhtars’ outing in the national and international stage made him one of the distinguished Nigerians and a technocrat that contributed immensely in building Nigeria’s and international economy in which millions of people are finding succour in.
“Your impressive resume is a testimony to the fact that it has prepared you well to take over the prestigious title of a King maker “The Sarkin Bai Of Kano” in which your father held sway from 1953 to 2021 till he answered the call of our creator the Almighty Allah, Who is the owner of the heavens and earth”, he noted.
Sharada added that the people of Kano and Nigeria in general are happy with this great son of Kano who is currently the Vice President, Country Programs, Islamic Development Bank.
He further noted that when the New Sarkin Bai served as Executive Director on the Board of the World Bank Group (2011-2014) as well as Co-Chair of the UN Inter-Governmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Finance (2013-2014) he performed wonderfully well .
“This was Dr. Mukhtars’ parts of achievement in contributing to the world economy and that of Nigeria and all these was also a testimony since his debut as a lecturer in the Department of economics Bayero University Kano.
“Since I ventured into politics and with my ambition to become Governor of Kano state during the forthcoming general elections and having people like you in the administration which we hope to form and tap from your ocean of Knowledge and make Kano a citadel of economic activities in the African continent which it was known for centuries”, Sharada added.
The federal lawmaker said he will continue to consider him and like minds as role models and take their advice on how to take Kano to greater height restore its lost economic glory.
Sha’aban Sharada said the new Sarkin Bai’s vast experience made him to follow him with kin Interest and use to seek for his elderly advise on how to move Kano forward in the areas of economy nationally and internationally.
“On behalf of myself, family, people of Municipal Federal Constituency, our millions of supporters in Kano congratulate you as you attained the position of Sarkin Bai of Kano, one of the most important King makers in the Kano Emirate council”, said Sharada.
The Governorship hopeful further congratulated the entire Sarkin bai family, his wife Hajiya Hadiza and the entire people of Kano state for the turbaning of these illustrious son of Kano.
It can be recalled that the newly installed Sarkin Bai served as Minister of Finance for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as Chairman of the National Economic Management team (2008-2010), as Executive Director, African Development Bank (2007-2008) and as Director-General of2007). Nigeria’s Debt Management Office (2003-2007).
