Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Sunday inaugurated construction of Kanye-Kabo-Dugabau road project valued  at N1.6 billion.

Ganduje was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Murtala Sule-Garo, and supported by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Development, Mr Idris Wada.

He said in Garo town the 18 kilometre road project, started in 2018, but revoked after the work reached nine kilometres.

“Another Contract was re-awarded for the completion of the remaining nine kilometres.

“The total cost of the contract is N1.6 billion.

“The road will cross eight out of 10 wards in Kabo local government area,” he said.

Ganduje said that the administration would continue to work round the clock to improve rural infrastructure across the state.

He revealed that the state government had awarded another road project within Kabo town, which stands at 3.9 kilometers value at over N800m.

The governor explained that experts believed that the project, when completed, would ease movements of people and farm produce within the rural communities in the area.

He added that the administration would continue to construct roads for rural communities in the state.

He, therefore, urged the people of the state to continue to support the administration’s policies and programmes, which were aimed at improving their living conditions. (NAN)
