The Kano State Government, under the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, has served a quit notice to 15 businesses operating within state gardens.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Environment, Nasiru Sule Garo, during a media briefing in honor of World Environment Day.

Commissioner Garo emphasized that the notice was issued to create spaces where Kano residents can unwind with their families.

He revealed that only 15 businesses had been identified so far, as other garden areas had been repurposed for different structures such as filling stations.

Garo pointed out specific locations near the Muhammad Wase Teaching Hospital, where gardens had been transformed into commercial spaces hosting meat sellers and eateries.
