The Kano State Government has called on motorists to enrol into driving schools to acquiring more knowledge on modern transportation system.
The Commissioner for Housing and Transport, Alhaji Sale Kausani, made the call while receiving members of Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) in Kano.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Information Officer of the ministry, Ibrahim Adamu on Thursday in Kano.
Kausani said that learning how to drive would go a long way to solve half of the problems facing drivers and as well reduce accidents on major roads.
Earlier, the Director of Nigerian Institute of Trainsport Technology, Dr. Bala Ibrahim- Moudi, said they were in the ministry to congratulate the Commissioner on his appointment and assured of all possible synergy and collaboration with the ministry.
He futher explained that the NITT would like to partner with the state government through the ministry, to train the proprietors of driving schools.
Ibrahim-Moudi added that this would make driving schools to benefit from the global innovative technological system provided by the institute.
On her part, Permanant Secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Aminatu Muhammed-Usman, commended NITT for choosing Kano to partner with and assured of government’s readiness for such programme.(NAN)
