The Kano State Hisbah Board has declared Auwal Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa, wanted for allegedly committing adultery.
Aminu Daurawa, the Commander General of Hisbah, made the announcement during a news briefing in Kano on Monday.

He stated that Sankara was reportedly caught in an uncompleted building with a married woman, Tasleem Nabegu, the mother of two children.
Daurawa explained that intelligence tracking led to the discovery, following multiple complaints from Nasiru Bulama, Tasleem’s husband, who accused the commissioner of engaging in an illicit affair with his wife.
“We wanted to settle out of court by inviting both families, but only the husband appeared, while the commissioner refused to honour the invitation and later escaped after being bailed from Hisbah,” Daurawa said. He added that the case had now been taken to court.
Daurawa also urged the public to report any illicit activities they observe in their communities to Hisbah.
Meanwhile, Bulama appealed to the government and relevant authorities to ensure justice is served, emphasizing that it is unlawful for married individuals to engage in such acts.
