Nigeria National League club, Kano Pillars have announced the appointment of Evans Ogenyi as their new head coach.
Kano Pillars were relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
According to the chairman of the club, Ibrahim Galadima, Ogenyi was picked ahead of 30 other applicants.
Galadima disclosed that a Mexican, two Ghanaians, one Togolese, one Ivorian and nine other foreigners applied for the job.
Ogenyi last handled another NNL side, Warri Wolves.
He has also managed Ocean Boys and Lobi Stars in the past.
Four-time NPFL champions, Kano Pillars will look for a quick return to the Nigerian top flight after a dismal campaign last term.
