Kano Pillars Football Club has confirmed that their U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident while traveling to Plateau State for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League.
In a series of tweets on their official X account, the club expressed their sadness and concern for those affected by the accident.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that the Kano Pillars FC U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident earlier today while en route to the New Jos Stadium for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League against Plateau United U-19,” Kano Pillars stated.
The club further confirmed that both the driver and several players sustained injuries in the incident but emphasized that there were no fatalities. “Several players and the driver sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident and have been promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention,” they added.
Kano Pillars requested patience and support from their fans during this challenging period, thanking them for their understanding.
This accident occurred shortly after Kano Pillars’ senior team played a 1-1 draw with Kwara United in the NPFL, where Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa provided an assist.
