The Kano State Police Command, on Tuesday, successfully rescued a four-year-old boy, Muhammad Jamilu, who had recently been abducted. The authorities also apprehended three individuals in connection with the kidnapping.
Abdullahi Kiyawa, the spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the arrests in a press statement issued in Kano on Tuesday.
He reported that Jamilu had been taken from Sharada Quarters and transported to Gwarzo Town by his abductors.

The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦10 million. After negotiations, ₦300,000 was paid as a partial ransom, with the balance still pending, according to the statement.
Kiyawa disclosed, “The principal suspect, Salisu, who is a cousin of the victim, admitted to conspiring with two others to execute the kidnapping.”
He further noted that Jamilu was rescued unharmed and has been taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano for care.
Kiyawa continued, “Upon receiving the report, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, directed the immediate rescue of the victim and the arrest of the suspects.”
With technical support, detectives apprehended the three suspects: Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, and Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, both from Yakasai Quarters, Kano, and Hassan Aliyu, 22, from Hotoro Quarters, Kano.
“The principal suspect, Salisu, admitted to conspiring with the others to abduct the victim, who was held in Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State,” Kiyawa concluded.
