Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, the member of the House of Representatives for Bichi Federal Constituency from Kano State and chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation has bagged the Best Reps Member of the Year Award 2024.
Democracy Heroes Award Africa conferred the award on him in recognition of his contributions towards the enrichment of democratic norms in the Nigerian society including offering sponsorships to his constituents in Bichi Local Government at all levels and provision of infrastructure developments in the area, among others.

The project director of FDN, Olufunsho Ajagbonna, aka Fajag, presented the award to Former Chairman of Bichi Local Government Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo, who represented the rep at a ceremony which was held on 2nd October 2024, at Congress Hall Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
Abubakar Kabir Abubakar beat several other nominees to emerge the winner of the award.
FDN said that the lawmaker’s outstanding performance is deserving of recognition.
The organization added that the award was conferred on Hon. Abubakar after rigorous processes to ensure that there was no mismanagement of funds assigned to him and having acknowledged his constant desire to improve the society’s quality of life through creating opportunities for the upcoming generation.
Democracy Hero’s Award is hosted by Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN).
The award also recognizes entrepreneurs, businesses and entertainers whose contributions have helped in entrenching stability through job creation, youth empowerment and poverty alleviation measures.
