Two new Commissioners were sworn-in at a ceremony held in the inner chamber of Africa House, Government House, in line with the need to have a full membership of the state executive council for effective service delivery.
The newly sworn-in Commissioners are Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Auwalu, who was posted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji, assuming the position of Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and the Disabled.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, addressing the executive council after the swearing-in, urged them to maintain the highest standard of professionalism, credibility, and discipline in their discharge of duties.
He emphasized the importance of commitment to the full implementation of all the state’s policies, programs, and projects as outlined in their blueprint and action plan.
The Governor also called on the new Commissioners to collaborate effectively with other cabinet members and other appointees for the overall interest of the state and government business.
He reminded them of the high performance bar and the expectations set for rendering selfless service to the people of Kano.
“I urge you to remain steadfast in ensuring the full implementation of all our policies, programs, and projects as contained in our blueprint and action plan document,” said Governor Abba.
The Governor also expressed his happiness with the outstanding performance of the first set of Commissioners within a short time and tasked them to sustain the tempo.
“I must stress to you again that the performance bar is very high, and I expect each and every member of the cabinet to live up to expectations and render selfless service to the people of our state Kano,” emphasized Governor Abba.
