Justice Aboki emphasized the pressing need for such a court to address emerging challenges, including gender violence, rape, and child abuse.
“We are working to ensure gender-based violence is being tackled, which is why the request for creating a single court to ensure speedy dispensation of justice against perpetrators is given due and quick attention by the government,” she stated.
Additionally, she highlighted that Kano is collaborating with UNICEF to improve educational opportunities for girls and combat gender-based violence and child abuse.
Amina Suzana Abaji, Vice President of FIDA, Nigeria, acknowledged the role of women in the association as symbols of hope and sources of inspiration. She noted that the gathering would facilitate the development of justice and the protection of women’s and children’s rights.
Abaji commended Kano for signing the Child Rights Act, underscoring the state’s efforts to strengthen the rights of children.
