Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, Commissioner for Environment in Kano State, says the state government is committed to continuing to plant more trees in the state to address climate change issues.
The Commissioner stated that this is the third phase of the tree planting exercise, which is taking place at the Zoological Garden in Municipal local government area.
Daily News 24 reports that the first phase is already underway at Kawaji zonal education in Nasarawa local government area, and the second phase is underway at Gwarzo Road in Gwale local government area, all in an effort to address the issues of flooding and global warming.
As a result, the commissioner urges residents of the state to plant at least one tree and care for it properly until it reaches maturity in order to protect our beloved state from the ravages of floods and climate change.
