As travellers spend over 6 hours between Abuja and Kaduna, a journey of about three hours, due to gridlock on both sides of the express way the Kaduna State Government has expressed remors.
The Kaduna government is expressing compassion and worry to citizens over the prolonged gridlock currently being experienced along the rout.
The government said citizens plying the route over the last few days have experienced severe hardship and discomfort due to the gridlock, which is deeply regretted.
In a statement on Thursday by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the state government said it was in discussions with Julius Berger PLC, and other relevant agencies, over ensuring that obstructions are promptly cleared and the gridlock is eased for normal movement of traffic as soon as possible.
“The Government once more reiterates its deep regret of the situation, and conveys its understanding of the significant pains being endured by citizens and commuters in the protracted situation. Citizens will be updated accordingly,” the government said.
