Armed bandits have abducted the district head of Kanya in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Isah Daya.
The incident occurred when the bandits stormed Kanya village, killing one person and injuring three others, who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

During the attack, eight people, including the district head, were taken by the bandits, who disappeared into the forest. The deceased has been identified as Sherrif Alhaji Almu.
Confirming the incident on Monday, Kebbi State police spokesman SP Nafi’u Abubakar said a combined security team led by the police has launched a manhunt for the kidnappers. “Efforts are ongoing to rescue the district head and the other abducted persons,” he said.
The police further revealed that the Kebbi State government has provided essential logistics to combat banditry in the region, particularly in Kebbi South, Zuru Emirate.
This attack follows the recent killing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of Suru Local Government and the abduction of another individual in Matseri village under Bunza Local Government Area.
