Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the appointment of Justice Umar Abubakar as Acting Chief Judge of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the appointment will be effective from Dec. 25.

It is sequel to the retirement of the state Chief Judge, Justice Sulaiman Muhammad-Ambursa, who attained the age of 65.
Malam Yahaya Sarki, the Special Adviser (SA) to the governor on Media, announced this in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
Sarki quoted the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Umar-Yauri, as saying that the governor congratulated the acting chief judge and enjoined him to bring those excellent qualities that informed his appointment to bear on the discharge of his responsibilities.
