Managing Director of the Distribution Company, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna disclosed this when the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

He explained that, as part of his efforts towards alleviating the electricity problem, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital will be enlisted into the priority areas of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company as well as in the Niger Delta Power Holding Company program.

Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna further requested the management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano to provide the list of their technical staff that manage the hospital’s electricity for free training to promote efficiency in their work.

The Hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe expressed concern over the way the hospital is spending huge sum of money in trying to provide the hospital with electricity.

According to him, the hospital spends over N20 million Naira monthly on the purchase of diesel for the 1500 KVA generator that provides the whole hospital with power.

He thanked the Managing Director of KEDCO for coming to the aid of the hospital and it’s patients who find it very difficult to withstand the short break in electricity in the hospital.
