The Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmad Bamalli has commiserated with the families of those attacked by kidnappers at Kofar-Gayan Low Cost Housing Estate in Zaria.
The emir, who addressed a press conference on the matter at his palace in Zaria on Monday, urged residents of the emirate and Kaduna State to be more vigilant.
He said that people should be more security conscious so as to support the efforts of government in tackling the recurring insecurity challenges.
The emir also advised the people to use the period of Ramadan to offer special prayers against kidnapping, banditry and other crimes in the country.
Bamalli further urged the people to pray for peaceful coexistence and sustainable socio-economic development.
He advised some residents of the residents who were moving out of the estate to return to their homes and join in providing solutions to the problem.
The emir also prayed for the quick release of Greenfield University students, who were abducted from the school on Tuesday.
Bamalli commended security agencies for their robust approach to the situation, and noted that those arrested by the police had provided useful and actionable information.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Police had arrested two of the suspected kidnappers who attacked Kofar-Gayan estate on Sunday.
The kidnappers abducted two housewives and injured four residents. (NAN)
