Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, has hit Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that any party that cannot control Lagos, Kano, and Rivers states should abandon the 2023 presidential election.
Kwankwaso made the announcement on Monday at the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads Commissioning Ceremony in Emohua, Rivers State, at the invitation of Governor Nyesom Wike.
He also slammed some PDP leaders, calling them rigid and self-centered.
“Any party that cannot control two of the three states – Kano, Lagos, and Rivers – is out,” he said. He (Wike) has been saying it for a long time, but no one has noticed.
Anyway, with Kwankwaso out of that party and Wike unsure whether to be there or not, things are moving. Certainly, Lagos is not their own, and one wonders how they will win the 2023 election.”
Recall that Governor Wike and four other disgruntled governors elected on the PDP platform had protested the party’s retention of Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman, prompting the withdrawal of support for Atiku Abubakar.
