Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared the establishment of Northwest University, now Maitama Sule University, and Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil, now Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, as his “best and most cherished achievements” during his tenure as Governor of Kano State.

Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), made this statement on Monday in Kano during the inauguration of an ultramodern auditorium named after him by Skyline University. The event coincided with the celebration of his 68th birthday.
Reflecting on his time in office, Kwankwaso emphasized, “My best and cherished legacy while in office as Governor of Kano State was my investment in education.” He added that, while his administration’s projects included flyovers, roads, agricultural development, and rural electrification, none compared to the value of establishing the two universities and other educational initiatives.
Kwankwaso also lauded Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf for his commitment to the Kwankwasiyya ideology, which prioritizes education and human development.
In his remarks, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to Skyline University for its collaboration with the state government in training 1,000 teachers in computer skills, reaffirming the institution’s ongoing partnership with the state.

In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Governor Yusuf commended Kwankwaso’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape, describing him as a mentor and a pillar of national development.
“Dear Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, I felicitate with you, my mentor and our National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), on the occasion of your 68th birthday anniversary,” Yusuf wrote.
