A popular Imo state-based entertainer and politician, Chukwunonye Irounno, is dead.

The deceased is believed to be the MC of Peter Obi’s campaign.

Chukwunonye was also the Labour Party (LP) House of Assembly Candidate for Okigwe Constituency in the state.

According to report, he died on Monday night in Owerri after returning from meeting.

Source who claimed anonymous said, “He was very fine. He even called me last night to ask if I was in town. We spoke for a while and laughed a lot during our chat. He spoke about the campaign he will MC today and how everything was going. He was his usual joyous self before we hung up.

“To my greatest shock. I got another call less than one hour later that my friend is dead. What kind of life is this?”

Irouno was also the Special Assistant to former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
