The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 36-year-old man for allegedly attempting to steal his employer’s car after dropping her off at a market.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. when the complainant, whose identity remains undisclosed, reported the theft of her Lexus ES 350 with registration number EXY 950 FZ, along with her laptop, to the police. According to Hundeyin, the suspect, who was the complainant’s driver, drove away with the vehicle after dropping his employer at Tejuosho Market in Yaba.
Following the report, police detectives tracked the suspect to Shubiri Road in Ojo, where he was apprehended and the car was recovered.
“The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” Hundeyin stated.
