The Academic staff union of University (ASUU), Ahmadu Bello University branch, advised the Institution to formally to withdraw the degree certificates awarded to the Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.
According to the union, his actions are against the requirements in Character and learning, deemed worthy of the ABU degree award.

The motion generated according to a resolution jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Haruna M. Jibril and Hussein A. Abdullahi respectively, at the end of the ASUU-ABU Congress meeting held on the 2nd March, 2022 at Abdullahi Smith lecture theater.
The Congress had met to deliberate on the matter of the attempt by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai on illegal take over of land and disregarding the order of court to release the land.
The Congress thus resolved to visit the Mando college of agric and animal science where the lands are to register its protest over the illegal land seizure.
The union issue an advisory to the relevant organizations of ABU to formally withdraw the degree certificates awarded to Nasir El-Rufai, as his actions are in contravention of the requirements in Character and learning.
