Lille beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 championship last season and they’ve now denied the capital city side another title, winning the Trophee des Champions – France’s Super Cup.
Xeka scored the only goal of the 1-0 win, meaning PSG start the 2021/22 season with disappointment.
He netted just before half time, but PSG weren’t able to fight back in the second half. The Parisians dominated possession throughout this match, held in Israel, but they couldn’t capitalise on their control of the ball and their best chance was from a set piece, when Abdou Diallo headed over.
