A Sharia Court in Kano State on Tuesday issued an order for the remand of a 23-year-old man named Abdulwahab Yusuf, who admitted to stealing cow skin valued at N8,500.

The theft occurred in Tukuntawa Quarters, Kano. Yusuf was charged by the police with theft, and Judge Umar Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the case until August 22 for a summary trial.

Earlier in the proceedings, Insp Abdullahi Wada, the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the complainant, Fatihu Auwal, who resides in Tukuntawa Quarters as well, reported the incident to the Fagge Police Station in Kano on August 5.

Wada alleged that the defendant unlawfully entered the complainant’s area and absconded with the cow skin.

In response, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
