The Kano State Commissioner for Higher Education Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure has led the management of the Ministry along with Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education today, for the condolence of the families of five students union leaders of the institution who lost their lives in a ghastly accident yesterday, along Kano-Katsina Road.
The Commissioner who sympathised with the families of the deceased noted that the people of State have lost the lives of some of their illustrious and disciplined students who dedicated their energy to pursue qualitative education for the development of the State and the country at large.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry Halima Magaji Gwarzo, and sent to Daily News 24.

Halima Gwarzo in a statement said Dr Mariya Bunkure added that the monumental loss of the students was not for the community of the college alone or their respective families, but to the entire people of the State.
The Commissioner, therefore, prayed to Almighty Allah to repose the souls of the deceased with Jannatul Firdaus, and the family the fortunate to bear the irrespective loss.
In his condolence remarks, the Provost of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Associate Professor Yahya Isa Bunkure told the families that the management of the institutions was shocked with the sad news that befell the student.
He then conveyed the condolences of all the staff and students of the institution for the unfortunate incident.
Bunkure prayed to Allah to repose the souls of the late students and give a quick recovery to those who sustained injuries.
The families of the departed students expressed their appreciation to the two management for prayers and support accorded to them in the terrible situation.
