The Atlas Lions of Morocco have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, after a 1- defeat of Portugal.
The victory makes the country the first African team to get to that stage of the competition in its 92-year history.
Youssef En-Nesyri broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute and the African team held on to see the game through.
Walid Cheddira was sent off for an infringement in the second half but that didn’t stop the North African team from holding on to make history.
Morocco had defeated Spain in the last 16 against the plaudits’ predictions.
