Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Alhaji Murtal Sule Garo has expressed sadness over the death of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir.
Late Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, died on Wednesday at aged 91, due to ill helth.
In a statement personally signed by the commissioner, he described the death of the late emir as a loss to the emirate, the state and Nigeria at large considering the leadership acumen of the nonagenarian.

The statement said during the reign of late emir , his selfless service consolidated the peaceful coexistence of the people in the emirate.
‘’The late Emir would be remembered for his support towards developmental stride of the government aimed at making live easy for the people,’’ said the statement.
‘’Despite his age during his lifetime, he was never found wanting in impacting on the lives of the people positively.
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, in the statement commiserated with governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the State, the Gaya Emirate Council and the family of the deceased.
The commissioner prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him paradise.
