The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intervened in a Boko Haram latest attack on civilians.
A large number of fleeing insurgents had invaded Zira and Gur villages in Biu South Local Government Area of Borno State.
The fighters stormed the communities at about 4:30pm on Sunday, on motorcycles and gun trucks.
They razed many houses, while residents scampered for safety. Many are displaced and families separated.
A NAF fighter jet engaged the terrorists with firepower. The assailants hurried out of the areas as bombs dropped on some of them.
DAILY POST gathered that Boko Haram and ISWAP have increased attacks on civilians lately.
Their actions may not be unconnected to the troops’ ongoing offensive under operation Tura Takai Bango.
The operation is being supported by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
