A group under the aegis of North-West Tinubu/ Shettima Campaign Support Group has thrown its weight behind Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s recent comments where he claimed that some elements in the presidency are working against the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Director of the Group, Bappa Babba-Danagundi, made the position of the group known while speaking to newsmen in Kano on Sunday.

He said the over 10,000 support groups and 5 million members of the support groups are solidly behind Governor El-Rufai’s comments because he had spoken the minds of over 150 million Nigerians.

According to him, it’s not in the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress neither is it in the manifesto of the party Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to put masses into suffering.

He argued that whatever might be the reason behind the changing of currently at this material time, the new naira notes should have been available to enable people access it with ease.

“Whether they are helping the economy to grow, whatever the reason they are doing it, It is fine. All we are saying make the new naira notes available for people to access their hard earned money kept in the banks.

“The change of the currency have put people in hardships. What sort of country is this. Go to the ATMs at banks and see how people are qeueing as beggars. I don’t know what beggars will do now if people who have their legimately earned money kept in the bank cannot go and withdraw it.

“How will those on the streets that do not have anything to eat and have to wait for those who go to the banks to withdraw and help them will they do, Will they be dieing or what do you expect them to do?.

“This is a very bad policy because it is not going to help in any way in the growth of the nation’s economy,” he said.

He said whatever was the motive behind the new policy, the authority concerned should make the new naira notes available for especially for salary earners and owners of small businesses so as not to make them suffer.

Babba-Dan’agundi said the group and all other right thinking Nigerians would continue to support and pray to Almighty Allah to continue to guide Governor El-Rufai in his effort to speak the truth.
