Naja’atu Bala Muhammad (born 1956) is a politician from Nigeria. In the 2007 Nigerian General Election, she was nominated for Kano Central District Senator by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
She is also one of the first female presidents of the National Students Union Nigeria at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU), as well as the first female Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Childhood and education
She was born in 1956 in Kano’s Central City to Alhaji Ali Abdullahi, a core socialist and one of Mallam Aminu Kano’s contemporaries in the Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU).
Naja’atu attended St. Louis Private School in Kano for primary school and WTC Secondary School in Kano. She graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria with a bachelor’s degree in history.
Personal life
She is the widow of Dr Bala Muhammed, who served as a political advisor to Second Republic Governor Abubakar Rimi. During the administration of Abubakar Rimi, her husband was murdered. Achievements
Naja’atu Bala Mohammed elevated women’s political participation to new heights, and she is regarded as one of the most prominent social figures and political activists, serving as Kano’s people’s voice.
She believes that corruption must be eradicated and that the battle must be waged, as she has stated in both private and public settings.
She was put forward and put on the committee whose job it is to help members of the Boko Haram sect and the Nigerian government talk to each other and make peace.
