The mobile phone of former Vice President Namadi Sambo was stolen at an event in Abuja on Thursday.
Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, who disclosed this in a tweet on Thursday, said the incident happened at the launch of “Chronicles Of The Rainbow”, a biography of late Governor Solomon Lar.
He said the event had high security, but someone broke through the “security line” to steal the phone.
Shehu Sani tweet reads, “It’s incredible that someone can breach the tight security line and steal the phone of the former VP Sambo at the ongoing late Governor Solomon Lar Book launch in Abuja.
In reaction to the post, a Twitter user @ifGodbifomi said, “I can’t believe someone can have that audacity to do that. It’s rather embarrassing. Habaa Nigeria.”
Another one, @Asadeeq98: “Definitely our in-security has gone far out of hand ya Allah ka kare mu (May God protect us) Amin”.
@pappy1653 said: “E go reach everyone that has kept mute on the bad condition of Nigeria”.
Sambo was Vice President of Nigeria from 19 May 2010 to 29 May 2015. He served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010.
