In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted 2,120kg of Ghanaian Loud, a potent cannabis strain from Ghana, at the Ilesan beach the same day. A suspect was arrested in connection with the haul, and four vehicles intended for transportation were confiscated.

This seizure follows another operation on November 25 in Ogun State, where 472kg of the same substance was recovered at Idi-Iroko, Imeko area.

Meanwhile, in Benin City, Edo State, NDLEA operatives arrested two suspects and seized 185.6kg of cannabis. During an intelligence-driven raid on Ukuwague Street, a Toyota Previa bus loaded with the illicit consignment was also confiscated.

The NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, lauded the agencyโ€™s officers in Lagos, Kano, and Edo for their successful operations. He highlighted their balanced approach to combating drug supply and reducing demand across the country.

Marwa emphasized, โ€œThese operational successes demonstrate our commitment to tackling drug trafficking and misuse effectively. I commend all officers involved for their dedication to protecting our communities.โ€
