Some new polling units (PU) in the Ifako-Ijaiye constituency recorded a high turnout of voters in the ongoing presidential elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the polling units that were monitored on Saturday recorded over an average of registered voters.
NAN reports that PU 131, Ward 8, recorded a turnout of 40 voters out of 59 registered in the unit.
At PU 084, Ward C, 18 out of 36 persons had been accredited and voted, but voting was still ongoing as at the time of filing the report.
At PU 034, Ward I, where voting was still ongoing at about 2:20 p.m., an INEC official said that the turnout could not be ascertained since voting was still, however, impressive.
Similarly, a voter, Akin Lawal commended INEC for its operational Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) which he said made voting seamless and interesting.
NAN reports that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party agents and security agents were seen in the wards and units.
Also, security operatives were seen at polling units across the Ifako-Ijaiye constituency. (NAN)
